I can't wait! It's gonna be the best so far. It's been a while since I've read the book. I had every intention of reading it again before the movie came out. But I got busy and that didn't happen. Plus the fact that it's still packed in a box in the basement!


I just watched the trailer again & got goosebumps. I hope Kristin Stewart can pull it off. We'll see!!! Either way I get my dose of Edward & Jacob so it's all good :)

pollen, please go away!!

It's that dreaded time of year. The time of year when the weather is great and just when I'm starting to enjoy it... BAM!!...the pollen kicks in and I'm a prisoner in my own home. I don't dare go outside because I will be confined to the couch for the rest of the day with sneezing, uncontrollable runny nose, eyes that itch more than you can imagine (or maybe you can if you have severe allergies) and an all around feeling of total crap. 

Hmmm, that sounds fun doesn't it?! hehe

I'm taking 4 meds right now, most of which I've been taking for the last month and a half to gear me up for end of March/April pollen. I'm so glad I got most of the garden done before the pollen kicked into high gear. And I mean, kicked into high gear. Take a look at my van...

Seriously, do we need this much pollen??? Mother Nature, can't you do something about this?? I mean, it's pretty bad when you get into your car and look down and you have yellow stuff on your clothes just from brushing up against something. I was walking into my sewing class last night and there were footprints in the pollen on the sidewalk!!

But at least my yard is starting to look more like a yard and less like a red clay wasteland...

The new sod is turning green. Now all I need to do is get some grass seed to fill in the bare spots. Can't wait til it all fills in!! I'm working on a post about my planter boxes/details/garden journal/etc for those that are interested. 

In unrelated "news", I took the kids to the dollar flick to see this on Monday.

Great movie, but a bit scary for little ones. My crazies were just fine!! ha! We're going to see this today with my friend Kellie & her kiddos.

I know, movies twice in one week. Hey, told ya I can't go outside! 

I hope the pollen is more under control in your neck of the woods!!

I had a date with some vampires last night...and some hunky werewolves. It was well worth the wait. I think I may have to go back for more!

a week of dance, soccer, x-rays, graduation...

The last week of school...always a busy one.

We finished up soccer a little over a week ago. Olivia didn't play because of her knee but she stayed to cheer on her team for their last game. I wasn't sure if she was going to be able to dance at her recital last weekend because of her hurt knee. I actually took her for x-rays on Wednesday because she still wasn't straightening her leg right and she was still walking funny. I figured she had just bruised the bone (along with the big scrape) but the dr wanted it x-ray'd to be safe. Thankfully they turned out ok and by Friday she was finally feeling better.

This week we also had Ben's pre-K graduation. So sweet, it's hard to imagine my baby is going to be going into Kindergarten in just a few short months. Where does the time go???

When I compare the first day of school pics to the last day of school, I can really see how they've both grown.

And by the way God, if you're listening, this sure would be a good time to give me another baby...help take my mind off of my kids growing up too fast. You know, if you have a spare sec to answer a prayer or 2...I know there's a lot bigger prayers than mine out there...

Also this past week Olivia had her last dance class last Monday, pictures for her show and her dance performance this past Saturday. Boy did she have fun! She couldn't believe that she got to dance on such a big stage (or to put in her words "it's so HUGE!!")

She did great and I was so proud of her. Especially since she just started taking dance classes the end of February when most of the girls had been there since August.

On Memorial Day we didn't do a whole lot because of the rain that's been here in and out for several days. This was pretty much the scene at our house all morning:

G.I.Joe's & Barbies. I thought that was fitting for Memorial Day ;)I know, the picture's a bit blurry. Dang camera, still trying to figure it out. Barbie was helping out G.I.Joe cause he was hurt ;)

Then I took the kids to see Night at the Museum 2. Great movie!! I honestly didn't think it would be as good as the first one. I mean, we already know everything comes to life. How good could it be, right?? But let me tell ya, Hank Azaria as Kahmunrah was hilarious, as was Gen'l Custer. So many funny parts. My daughter said she liked it better than the first one. It's a toss up for me.

And now it's officially summer!! Let the fun begin....as soon as this rain goes away!

summer movies

Cool, huh? Well, we're halfway through spring break. I knew it would fly by and it is. When we went to the movies the other day it got me thinking about summer movies. Have you noticed there's a bunch of good movies coming out (now and in the next couple months)?? The movie industry, like tv, seems to go in spurts for me. I'm not really interested in stuff for a while and then BAM!! A bunch of good movies come out back to back.

I'm really looking forward to the new X-Men movie. Love me some Wolverine ;) Maybe cause he reminds me of my own stud man here at home! hehe And then there's another Star Trek movie. Is this like #20? I've lost count. But I've seen them all. Love them all. Yes, I'm a Trekkie, or a Trekkor, or whatever you kids are calling it these days. I even dressed up as Deanna Troi one year for Halloween. You know, back when I had the bod to pull it off! (btw, I will have that back...or at least some of it) Even died my hair darker. Don't know what happened to that costume. I'm sure Dave would like to know, too... 17 Again looks funny. It's not at the top of my list but I'll probably go see it at the dollar flick. And c'mon, who doesn't love Zac Efron.

I know there's something else but I can't remember. When I'm sitting in the movie theater watching the hour long montage of previews I always think "ooh, I gotta see that!!" and then half the time I forget about it til I see a preview on tv right before it comes out. Oh, I just remembered (see!), the new Transformers movie is coming out, too. That should be good. Can you tell I like Sci-Fi movies?? Sci-Fi movies with a bit of action, comedy and romance thrown in.

a quick post

I just had a sec so I thought I'd do a quick post. I'm in the middle of cleaning the house. It seems as though there are piles *everywhere* which drives me nuts!! I was in the middle of spring cleaning when the snow hit a week and a half ago. Then I had the carpet cleaners out the next week so everything had to be moved out of the rooms. So it has left my house in disarray.

So anyway, I thought I'd just share a few random things with you since I have nothing too "scrappy" to share at the moment (I'm hoping to remedy that tomorrow!)

First of all, look at the sky we had last night

love it. It *so* made me forget how crazy my kids were driving me...if only for a minute or 2 :)

And I don't know if you remember but back in January Two Peas had a thing where if you uploaded 20 layouts you got $20 to spend? Well, I took my time trying to decide what I wanted (we had til the end of Feb). Hey, how often does someone give you $20 to just go spend on scrap stuff?? So anyway, I finally decided on the Ali Edwards stamps

I've been wanting these since before Christmas but didn't want to spend the money. Cause those who know me know I don't exactly need anymore stamps!! I haven't had a chance to play with these yet, but again I'm hoping to tomorrow. I also bought a few papers from October Afternoon.

Twilight

So I finally got the see the movie (more than once) over the weekend. I had to wait for it to hit the dollar flick since I didn't see it when it first came out. When it came out in November it was the week after my son broke his leg so I was otherwise preoccupied. Plus, I hadn't read the book yet and from what I'd heard it was better that way. I totally agree. Because without reading the book first, you don't realize stuff (like Edward's ability) til almost halfway in. It's better if you know this stuff from the get-go!

I liked Charlie more than I thought I would. From the previews I didn't think I'd like him but then he turned out to be perfect for the role. Billy Black cracked me up. Emmett, well, what can you say about Emmett?? All of the Cullin's I thought were perfect for their roles. Especially Edward ;)

The only thing I didn't really like was how the scene unfolded in the forest between Edward and Bella. It seemed good at first, then a little disjointed.

Other than that, I loved it. Yes, I will be getting the DVD. Yes, I will be buying the tickets for New Moon as soon as they go on sale! I'm super excited to see how they will bring Jacob's character (and his tribe) to life on the big screen. Should be interesting. And the Volturi?? Hmmm... Don't know what I'm talking about?? Read the books!!!! They're all great.

I was bummed to hear that Stephenie Meyer (the author) was writing a book from the perspective of Edward, but someone distributed a rough draft on the internet and now the project has been put on hold "indefinitely". How great would that book be??!! I read it on her website and I really hope she changes her mind!
