...back from the sugar rush

Another great scrappin' weekend has come and gone. They're always over so fast! I managed to be pretty productive this weekend amidst chatting, laughting and eating....oh the eating. Let's just say, it wasn't called 'Sugar Rush' for nothin'!
I may have consumed a week's worth of sugar in 2 days. I so have to get back to the gym...

Erin and Carolyn were wonderful as always. And I also got to take a class from the fabulous Debby Schuh.
I'll share more of that adorable album once I get pics in it. I just love it.

When we weren't taking one of Debby's classes or eating we did lots of scrappin...
My friend Kellie was a 'fraidy cat at the hotel because 1)it was on the 1st floor, 2) the door opened to the outside instead of a hallway and 3) the door jam was a bit loose. So she made me sleep in the bed closest to the window...you know, so if an intruder came in he'd get me first! That's true friendship for ya right there! hehe you know I love ya Kellie ;)
And I may or may not have been coerced into trying to climb up on a donkey. Somewhere there's some blackmail pics of that...
In true Sweet Memories fashion, everything was decked out in pink & green. Love it :)
The weekend was great. It was great seeing people I don't get chance to see very often. It was fun to make new friends. I love scrappy weekends. Why can't they happen every weekend??

heading to the bash...

The birthday bash that is! Sweet Memories is celebrating their 2nd birthday and having a weekend crop. I went last year and it was a *lot* of fun. Erin definitely goes all out on her events! After the crazy stressful summer I definitely am feeling the need to get away, spend some time with my favorite hobby and good friends. I'm in the midst of packing, my unfinished projects still sit unfinished, and I'm trying to get everything organized along with making sure my hubby has food to feed the kids while I'm gone ;)

So here's a few random pics...because blog posts are so boring without pics!! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!! I'll have lots to share on Monday!!
Big 'ol watermelon from a roadside stand coming back from Atlanta. I don't remember where we were but oh how this watermelon was goooood.
(G.I.Joe is a stud around our house...check out all the laaadies! hehe)
Oh how the animals in our house provide us with endless hours of amusement! hehe

Sweet Memories Birthday Bash

It's filling up fast people! Sweet Memories is having their 2nd birthday bash. I went to the first one last year (click here) and it was a lot of fun. You can check out the blog for all the details or head here on facebook. I also signed up for the 2nd workshop 'tiny tales' but it was really hard for me to pick just one workshop. I would love to take all 3!! And let me tell you, Erin & Carolyn really know how to throw an awesome scrappin' weekend filled with great prizes, food, goodie bags, and great friends to crop with.

See you there!!

Updated 6/10 ~ as of yesterday there were only 17 spots left!!

back from the birthday bash

What a fun weekend we had at the birthday bash! I've recovered from the lack of sleep but Monday morning I came down with some kind of bug and have been feeling like crap. But I'm slowly crawling out of the sickie fog thank God. I'm on new meds for my uber-messed up digestive system so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.

Anyway.....

We did lots of chatting, scrapping, eating, chatting some more.....you know, the usual 2 day crop stuff!!

I got to see some of my Alabama scrappy friends :)
Virginia in her adorable prego-ness, Gretchen and that great album class (love it!!), Katie, Carol, Lisa & Nubia. So great to see you guys again :)

Check out the cute aprons that were waiting for us!

why do I look so weird in that pic?? anyway, we also had this cute little goody bag waiting for us at our tables

Have I ever mentioned how I loooove goody bags?? I have?

by the way, notice my hair color?? I was trying out something different. But I'm thinking this is just too dark for me...

We got to swing by the store on Saturday. Have I said how much I love that store?? I have?

And Kelly kept us cracking up all weekend long!

Birthday cake is better when it's smeared on your cheek!

It was a great weekend!!

(Kelly, I had to steal this one from your blogeroo!)

I'll leave you with this....

That's what happens when you leave a bag of gummy bears in your car in southern GA heat for an entire day!

pics from Helen, GA trip

Ok, so my friend Carol and I went to Helen, GA a little over a week ago for a scrappy retreat. To be honest, I was a little worried. Ok, worried is not the right word. I thought I would be a little out of place because the 2 people hosting the crop were Creative Memories consultants and most (or all) of the people there were also consultants or customers. But it was a lot of fun, I didn't get any funny looks. Well, maybe I did but that's just cause I'm corny & weird and that's a whole different kind of funny look. hehe

Anyway, we had a lot of fun. I won a few prizes. One of which is a paper pack that I'm giving to my daughter that has stickers in it...right up her alley. The food was really good, the company was fun, the location was great. Which got me to thinking about hosting my own crop/retreat so I've got the wheels in motion on that probably for next spring so keep an eye out for that later! I'm not gonna spill all the beans about that just yet til I get everything finalized.

Back to the retreat. Here's a few shots of the town. The town was so stinkin' cute!

Here's where we ate the first night. A little restaurant that had a deck overlooking the little river/stream where people were tubing.

When I told my daughter about all the people tubing there she said "Did you do it???" which huge excitement in her voice! Oh yeah, I can't wait to take the kids there for a mini-vacation. They would so get into it!

Check out the cute bags we got:

This is what happens when you have 2 scrappers who are very excited to get away for the weekend...

This was around 2am. Notice there's no one else up. We couldn't figure it out. That first night we were up til nearly 4am. The second night til around 1am I think. Yep, we had most of the others beat. Guess they're not true scrappers.

I'm opting not to show the picture of Carol table dancing. Hey, her sweetie came on the radio (aka Kenny Chesney). She couldn't help herself ;) Oh, and there was no one else in the room at the time. Although, one girl looked shocked as Carol jumped down from the table as she walked in. hehe Good times!

Ok, I'll end with a couple more layouts I did that weekend. I really wanted to do some stitching on those squares on this first one but I didn't bring my sewing machine with me so I had to make do.

I may have shared this next one in a previous post. I used some of my Shabby Chic Crafts tags in both of these. Now I normally don't use blue cardstock (I seem to gravitate toward white and kraft) but it was part of a past kit and I wanted to use it up. Plus it matched the summer theme of the photos.

So that was our trip in a nutshell! Lots of fun, can't wait for the next one!!! And Kellie, you'd better be there next time :)

while i was away....

I just got back from a scrappin' weekend in Helen, GA with my friend Carol. We had so much fun!! Hey, we were scrappin', what could be better than that right?!! I had totally planned on have a post go up while I was gone (you know, for my 5 readers out there) but I totally forgot before I left. That could've been because I procratinated on getting my stuff together til the last minute. Scrapbook stuff is not easy to pack last minute if you don't want to take your entire scrap room with you (and I did not!)

Anyway, I have lots to share but it's almost midnight and besides the lighting being terrible I'm just too tired. But I thought I'd show you what was going on at home while I was away.....daddy's jockying for top spot as favorite parent. I'm not giving up my title!! hehe

(excuse the lighting in the photos, I don't think he had the flash on)

Eating in the living room tray table style. I'm sure they were watching the Disney channel, too. Oh yeah, that's the life!

(Ben didn't know what his sign said. Olivia was reading it to him!)

French toast for breakfast...breakfast of champions!

Is it Christmastime and I didn't realize it? Now how can I compete with that??!! You're not fighting fair Dave! That's it, we're going to see Transformers tomorrow and the kids are getting extra popcorn and candy. And I think I'll take them to Toys R US after to pick out whatever toy they want. And then it's IHOP to have pancakes for dinner. Yeah, yeah, that's what I'll do...

Oh, and I almost forgot about the fort. No weekend with daddy would be complete without a huge fort in the living room!

I give up....you win

(btw, wasn't it cute that my hubby "staged" some photos for me while I was gone?? hehe I guess I'm rubbing off on him! poor guy...)

Thanks sweetie! I love you :)

some Friday eye candy

I couldn't resist this...

Jenni Bowlin's May kit. So pretty. I had to have it!

So wishing I could go here. Scrapbooking and Hawaii...what could be better??

Really wanting to get my hands on some of this yummy fabric from Heather Bailey...

not sure what I'd do with it. And it's a bit pricey. But it's so pretty that it makes me want to learn more about sewing than just the basics :)

And I so wish October Afternoon would get this out soon...

And they've teased us with it for long enough! I want me some Cherry Hill!!!

Ok, that's enough eye candy for now. Back to your lives people ;)

oh, and one final thing to all the Survivor fans out there....SO glad Coach is GONE!!! I mean, seriously, the guy's ego was taking up too much of my tv!!
