county fair

Last night we headed to the county fair. It had been a while since I'd been to a fair like this one.
To say the kids had fun was an understatement. Rides, fair food, animals, and sharing that with new friends...what kid wouldn't like that?! The adults enjoyed it, too :)

*the* sweetest little baby goat :)
this dude had some *serious* horns...bet all the other bull cows had horn envy ;)

isn't this just so pretty??? all the veggies lined up in a row, all color coordinated.

And then I introduced my kids to the Zipper...my favorite carnival ride as a kid. I have to admit I was a bit scared at first. It had been a long time since I rode this thing!!
Olivia said 'this is the best fair I've ever been to!!! Well, this is the only fair I've been to!' hehe Gotta love that girl :)

I'll be back on Monday with my funky junk treasures.

downtown

The other day we headed downtown to have lunch with daddy at one of my fave spots.
Olivia scanned for bugs with her spy gear watch while Addie slept :)

Then we ended up staying down there for the rest of the afternoon.
There's lots to do in downtown Spokane, including this area that has rides & an IMAX theater.
Yeah, to say the kids had fun would be an understatement. I mean, who doesn't love a ride on the Tilt-a-whirl??!
Too little to ride ;)
Oh Mr. Funnel Cake, with your fried, sugary, artery clogging goodness, how I love you so.
It was a fun afternoon filled with riding rides, watching an IMAX movie about elephants & gorillas, & most importantly...no arguing. So nice.

We rounded out the afternoon with a ride on the carousel that's over 100 yrs old.
A fun summer afternoon :)

happy hour

There's just something fun about sitting outside on a breezy summer day, having lunch and drinking yummy slushies that were delivered by a carhop on roller skates...
check that one off the summer list :)
