Ok, so my friend Carol and I went to Helen, GA a little over a week ago for a scrappy retreat. To be honest, I was a little worried. Ok, worried is not the right word. I thought I would be a little out of place because the 2 people hosting the crop were Creative Memories consultants and most (or all) of the people there were also consultants or customers. But it was a lot of fun, I didn't get any funny looks. Well, maybe I did but that's just cause I'm corny & weird and that's a whole different kind of funny look. hehe
Anyway, we had a lot of fun. I won a few prizes. One of which is a paper pack that I'm giving to my daughter that has stickers in it...right up her alley. The food was really good, the company was fun, the location was great. Which got me to thinking about hosting my own crop/retreat so I've got the wheels in motion on that probably for next spring so keep an eye out for that later! I'm not gonna spill all the beans about that just yet til I get everything finalized.
Back to the retreat. Here's a few shots of the town. The town was so stinkin' cute!
Here's where we ate the first night. A little restaurant that had a deck overlooking the little river/stream where people were tubing.
When I told my daughter about all the people tubing there she said "Did you do it???" which huge excitement in her voice! Oh yeah, I can't wait to take the kids there for a mini-vacation. They would so get into it!
Check out the cute bags we got:
This is what happens when you have 2 scrappers who are very excited to get away for the weekend...
This was around 2am. Notice there's no one else up. We couldn't figure it out. That first night we were up til nearly 4am. The second night til around 1am I think. Yep, we had most of the others beat. Guess they're not true scrappers.
I'm opting not to show the picture of Carol table dancing. Hey, her sweetie came on the radio (aka Kenny Chesney). She couldn't help herself ;) Oh, and there was no one else in the room at the time. Although, one girl looked shocked as Carol jumped down from the table as she walked in. hehe Good times!
Ok, I'll end with a couple more layouts I did that weekend. I really wanted to do some stitching on those squares on this first one but I didn't bring my sewing machine with me so I had to make do.
I may have shared this next one in a previous post. I used some of my Shabby Chic Crafts tags in both of these. Now I normally don't use blue cardstock (I seem to gravitate toward white and kraft) but it was part of a past kit and I wanted to use it up. Plus it matched the summer theme of the photos.
So that was our trip in a nutshell! Lots of fun, can't wait for the next one!!! And Kellie, you'd better be there next time :)

The "river/stream' is actually the mighty Chattahoochee, not far from it's head waters, and the restaurant you're eating at is the famous Cafe International in Helen.
You guys look like yall had a great time. And look at that CUTE town. Oh I want to go, I have always heard it was the cutest place. I forgot about the cabage patch dolls. Glad I didn't go, I don't think I could have walked away without one of them. Glad yall had fun, us hard working moms deserve a fun filled weekend every now and again. Cute pictures!!!!!!
