**********
I find it easier sometimes to just suck it up & pay a few dollars extra for shipping & have things delivered right to my door rather than trudge out to the stores with 3 kids (2 of which would would rather NOT be shopping during their summer vacation if yaknowwhatimean)

Of course, it's also easier to do this when you're Christmas shopping & said kids can't be around to see what you're buying ;) And some things you can only find online.
I like to buy on amazon.com cause you get free shipping over $25 on most things. Plus, I can also use my swagbucks (see link on right --->) & the rewards from my amazon credit card.

So what's in your mailbox this week?? Anything good??

water for Christmas

Have you ever thought about the many things we take for granted on a daily basis are not so common in other parts of the world?

I found out about a movement to raise money for wells in Africa. Can you imagine if you didn't even have water to drink?? We have so much in this country. I discovered this from a blog I read all the time...and if you don't read Meg's blog you really need to. She cracks.me.up!

Anyway, you can check out this post and this one.

I wasn't able to get anything done in time to be added to the shop. I'm hoping I can make up some stuff for next year. So I did the next best thing...I shopped! hehe

Check out this adorable bib I got in the mail last week:
Yes, I could have made one myself. But then it wouldn't be helping out anyone but me, now would it?

There's still some items in the etsy shop, you can check it out here.

Fresh Market - you had me at hello

Oh how I've been waiting for The Fresh Market to open. They've been working on it for months and I've been eagerly anticipating the grand opening. We had one when I lived in TN so when I saw the signs go up for a store here I was so excited.

I've already been in there twice since it opened...last Tuesday.

The store tantalizes all of your senses....they immediately greet you with fresh flowers as you walk in the door. Then, you see this...
Oh yeah, we were mesmorized by all of the candy!!!
Jars and jars and JARS of candy, gummies, M&M's (or the alternative version of them) in all colors, jelly bellies, and chocolates....oh, the chocolates...
Doesn't that make you drool??!! This place is going to be SO much fun to shop in come Halloween & Christmas!

And the big rack of spices just made me smile. Cause living in a small town it's hard to get those 'exotic' spices.
That's why I'm so happy this store is here. Now when I watch some of those cooking shows on The Food Network I'll actually be able to get the ingredients for the recipes!! I bought some yummy smelling mulling spices for my crock pot. I'm so ready for fall...have I said that recently??!

Their fresh bacon. YUM. Turkey marinated in Italian dressing (bbq'd on the charcoal grill). YUM. Chicken wrapped with mozzerella & marinara sauce. YUM. Oh, and check out this piggy out of ground sausage...
hehe!! Can you tell that's a pig. My daughter was the 'official' photographer for our trip (with the exception of the photos she was in of course). Can you tell what she really wanted??

They had so much more. But people kept looking at me funny for taking pics. I hate that...haven't they ever seen someone taking pics in a store before ;)

the outfit

We're getting ready to head up to Michigan for my 20 yr reunion (among other things). You might remember this post when I asked my wonderful readers to help me with picking out a top. Well, I ended up going with the 3rd one for 2 reasons ~ I figured it was the one that would look the best on me and it has green...my favorite color :)

So here's the thing, the top looks really good on me (and truth be told makes my...ahem...chest look bigger...always a plus ;) But I can't get over the cost. I mentioned before that I don't spend a lot of money on clothes. I shop at Target & Walmart and if it's in the department stores you'll usually find me in the clearance or sales racks. I just don't like to waste money on clothes.

Soooo.....

I was in Kohls the other day and check out what I found...

And do you know what?? That entire outfit (with necklace) cost about the same as that one top from Anthropologie!! I know!!! It's hard to tell in the pics cause I have crappy lighting in my room in the afternoon but that top is a really pretty shade of green.

I still haven't decided what top I'll wear. Cause the Anthro top matches the capri pants I bought. I'm trying to dress up a casual outfit. Our reunion is 'business casual' so I don't wanna go all formal but I don't want to show up in jeans either. I was hoping to wear a skirt but I can't seem to find one I like which is why I bought the heels & necklace to jazz up this outfit. And these cuties are sooo comfy...

...and I may try to squeeze in a little shopping in MI the day before the reunion if I have time ;)

I have some stuff scheduled to post while I'm gone cause I know you guys just couldn't live without me while I'm gone! HA!! And btw, if anyone is blog stalking me, I may or may not have someone house sitting for me who may or may not be armed and may or may not have a really big dog. Plus, unless you want a 9 yr old tv or an even older VCR, I have nothing to steal. I'm just sayin'...
