With the cooler temps in the mornings I've been in the mood to start my fall decorating. I love to get things up early so I can enjoy them for a while. And fall is my absolute favorite season!
I put together this cute little hanging "basket" for my foyer in no time at all. Although, my dog was eyeing the leaves as I was hanging it up so I may need to move it....we shall see.
Anyway, I started with a 12x12 sheet of Sassafras Lass paper and cut a curve along the top like this:
I didn't measure or use a template (but if you want one you can find one here). Then I rolled it together and used adhesive along one side to hold it closed. (Use a decent amount of adhesive so it won't start coming apart after a week).
Then I found a sheet of My Mind's Eye paper and used my new favorite border punch. I also curved the top of the strip of paper to make it fit better against the top of the cone. Again, I just free handed the cutting.
I attached the strip of green paper along with a tag, felt leaves & some vintage looking lace I bought at Joann's a while back.
To make the tag I stamped the "give thanks" with 2 different stamp sets (1 from Stampin' Up! and 1 from Fontworks) using brown StazOn and then ran it through my Sizzix with an embossing folder and distressed the edges.
To hang it up I just punched 2 holes in the back with my Crop-A-Dile and put some ribbon through. I didn't really want to see the hanger so I left it pretty short.
Add some leaves & berries and there you go!
Don't forget about the awesome sale going on at Kraft Girl Kits!!! Click here for more info.
