rodeo rain out

Saturday night we attempted to go to a local rodeo. They have it every year and every year we've lived here we've missed it. So this was the year.My kids were so excited.

Ben even wanted to dress like a cowboy. Of course, he didn't have a cowboy hat....so an Indiana Jones hat will have to do!

We got there about an hour and a half before the rodeo was supposed to start. The kids got to do pony rides, play a couple games, and then we got our funnel cake and waited to see some cowboys.

It was raining by the time the rodeo started but it was a mild rain, nothing to write home about.

Then, as if out of nowhere, the rain and wind picked up. And I mean, it picked up. As in, blowing you over, rain hitting you sideways kind of rain. The kids freaked out and we ran for shelter.

They were not happy campers. Olivia lost her blow up dolphin that she had won just an hour earlier. We only got to see 3 cowboys ride before the rain started.

And to say that we got soaked was an understatement. We walked through puddles that were up to Ben's knees. I joked that we should've just taken our socks and shoes off cause they were no good to us.
Just a bummer. So maybe next year...
