cruisin' the swagger wagon

Well, we didn't end up going with that spunky Sorento that I shared in this post. And I will admit that I was a bit bummed about that. I was really hoping to get out of a minivan and into an SUV. But the main reason we went with the minivan? Space. It all came down to space. The SUV was just too small for a (soon to be) family of 5 plus a 75lb dog (and maybe another one in a few months). The minivan was just more practical. It's nice, don't get me wrong. And has most of the same features. But it's not an SUV :( The good news was that it cost less than the Sorento and even after having to eat over $3K because we were upside down on our loan on the other van we still got a good deal. You can't beat spending less than 30K on a brand new minivan, covering the cost of your trade, and getting tires for life and powertrain warranty for life.

Our last van we bought used. And the thing I learned this go around is that I will probably never buy used again. We just put too many miles on a car to buy used (unless it's a year old). And second, if I want to get rid of a vehicle and get the most $$$ out of it, do it before it hits 60K miles. All good things to know. Everything's a learning experience, right??

So I'm happy. My son is bummed we have another van. But what he doesn't realize is how cramped he would've been sharing a seat with his sister and a brother/sister in a carseat.

So that's us now. Sportin' the swagger wagon once again. Jealous?? I know you are ;)

  4. I love it Michelle! Hal and I were wondering where you were going to put the luggage for 10 days + a souvenier from each park x2? Smart choice and cool looking van I might add. Love the color.

  5. I LOVE my mini-van. We rented a SUV last week while I van was getting fixed and I HATED it with a passion. HATED it. NO room. I had to crawl onto the seats to get the kids in the back and there was NO leg room. I could not imagine driving that thing when they were bigger! I want a ride in your new van!

  6. We bought a Sedona last November as we were expecting #3. We LOVE it. There is tons of space. I really like the automatic doors and satellite radio. Makes me feel like a hip Mom :)
