car shopping

I hate car shopping. With a passion. I hate going to one dealership and being told one thing, then going to another to be told the opposite. I mean, does anyone out there like car shopping?? Sure, getting into a brand spankin' new vehicle is fun. Checking out all the options...or in my case, not a ton of options cause we're cheap ;) But dealing with the money aspect....I hate that part.

This is what we're looking at. Or this. And my husband made me look at one of these even though I didn't want to.

You know, so I can have an informed decision. What's funny is that we're probably going to end up getting the Kia after all. The one car I didn't want to look at! They were the only ones that were willing to work with us on our trade in and you get more car for the money. What's cool is that the SUV we're looking at is built right here in GA. I love GM but it's just not in the budget right now. But I just can't get over the name. What a dumb name for a car!

But dealing with price, and trade-in, ugh... I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a fork. And I was very tempted to yesterday. Maybe not my eyes, maybe my ears....after being at the Chevy dealership & 2 salesmen were playing rap music on their ipod that included profanity just 2 cubes down from me where I was waiting for my salesman. If I would've had my kids with me....all hell would've broke lose. And yes I did say something. Oh, and also waiting 45 min for them to tell me they were offering me $4K less than what I owe on my van. Needless to say my husband was fired up and gave them a call. Usually I'm the one doing that kind of stuff...kinda nice when he does it :)

So, I'm driving this beauty this weekend in hopes that they can work some magic with the used car guy on Monday...

I've already told them where I need to be and I'm not gonna come back on Monday, love the car and just accept whatever offer they give me. But they seem to be pretty cool about things so we'll see. Wish me luck!

  2. I will not deal with cars! That's hubby's job because I cannot stand dealerships! Ugh!

Cute car! We always buy used now. We manage to find good deals on cars that are only a couple years old with lots of options and low miles.

    Have a great day!

  3. Oh Michelle, I can't wait to hear how you like the Kia, I have been drooling over the Lexus version of the same style and my husband just laughs at me...literally. After months of pointing them out on every drive he finally said, "ok maybe you can look at the Nissan Mureno, it's the same company but cheaper." then after a business trip he brought me a magazine and said, "Here what about the Kia, that's even better budget wise." Well it's not my Lexus but I'm not holding my breath for luxury vehicle anytime soon! So make sure to post again and let us know how you like the Kia, cause I may be driving the same ride as you very soon! :)
