set your camera down

Are you familiar with Becky Higgins' Project Life?? It's all about taking a picture a day, recording the 'every' day things that happen in our lives. I'm doing it (and very behind) but I like the idea of catching the 'regular' stuff, the stuff that I'm not necessarily going to scrapbook a page about but still want to record & remember.

I don't plan on having Project Life replace my every day scrapbooks but it's nice to look through it as a snapshot in time sort of thing.

Last week Becky suggested we put down our cameras...literally...and take a picture. First, on a counter, table or desk and now on the ground. It's amazing the different perspective you get on photos. And it's really rather neat!

Check out some of my photos from this past week:
heading to her first soccer practice of the season

Jesse & her 'baby'

I also love this one of just her doggy paws ;)
getting of the school bus

first baseball game of the season

*love* that last one...especially how my son's feet don't touch the ground as he's sitting on the bench in the dugout. Such a big boy...but still little ;)

So I challenge you to put your camera down like I did. Let me know what you think!!

As a side note, some people may look at you funny for doing this...like one of the dad's last night at baseball. But after I showed him the cool shots you could get at this angle he had a different perspective!

I've also been playing with some photo editing (can you tell??) There's a great post by one of the Noel Mignon DT members Amy that shared some neat new resources. You can check out that and the other great posts over on the Noel Mignon blog here.

  1. Great idea...I like the one of your child walking to practice and the one on the bench. Our dog has a baby, too! She loves her baby!

    Have a great weekend!
