ready for Fall

I'm not one to wish time away. And even though Fall is my favorite season, I don't like summer to rush by because then the kids are back to school, sports and all the craziness that goes with it. But I have to say...I am SO ready for Fall. We've had an extremely hot summer this year (as I know a lot of others have had, too) with many days over 100, heat indexes up to 115 and tons of humidity. It's the kind of hot that just makes you sick. And you can't do anything that involves being outside.

Even the trees have given up. A lot of them have leaves that are dying and falling off. My pool is full of them. It's just too hot!!

So, we've been doing a lot of things that involve staying inside. Like, going to the movies. We've seen Toy Story 3, Despicable Me (super cute & funny!), Ramona & Beezus (seriously the funniest, feel good movie you'll see this season), Iron Man 2 (great), and I know there's others but I can't think of them at the moment.

We've gone bowling (but only because they're doing free kids this summer, regular prices are WAY overpriced)

Olivia got her ears double pierced. She already had the 1st ones and I caved and let her get the second ones. At first I felt like I was being a bad mom letting her do this at 8 1/2 yrs old but they actually look really cute!!
We've had slumber parties in the living room...

Barbie pool parties...

...don't ask why half the Barbies are nekkid.

We went to IHOP to get some Minionade & Cinniminions...

Sprinkles in your Minionade is just tooo fun ;)

We've done pottery (again, a great activity but too expensive to do all the time unfortunately)

The kids really liked this activity but it's really hard for someone who's very particular about things being perfect (aka BEN) and I had to tell him to 'relax' a few times cause he was getting upset when he messed up. It's all part of it, right?! We get to pick up our masterpieces today so I can't wait to see what they look like!

The only time you can really do stuff outside is before 9am or after 5pm. That's when we pulled out the slip n slide (cause the pool sprung a leak in one of the hoses and is now super dirty from days and days of the filter being off...)

So, again, I'm ready for Fall!!

I'm ready for pumpkins, and leaves, and pumpkin spice candles, and Halloween costume shopping. I'm ready for all of it.

Cause this heat just stinks!!

  6. I am dying over the Barbie pool party photos, sooooo cute!!! My kids make up elaborate scenes with their stuffed animals, sometimes taking over the entire upstairs!! I am not ready to let go of summer yet, it hasn't been that warm this year and I feel like it shouldn't be over yet!!
