one more peek & a winner

Happy Monday everyone! I'll start with some fun stuff...the winner of my giveaway :)
I know that's hard to see but if you click on it #9 is the winner. So that means that Carolyn ~ you're the winner! Send me your address to meandmyscraps@yahoo.com and I'll send you some Halloween goodies :)

I started my morning out at 5:15am because I had to be at the hospital by 7am for an HSG. It was a lot of fun, lemme tell ya. Anyway, turns out I have one good tube and one blocked tube. So I'm still trying to process. I'm a bit sad but tomorrow's a new day :)

I do have a couple more sneak peeks of the Sept Kraft Girls Kit. I know I said it before but I just loved playing with this kit!!

The Sept kit goes on sale tomorrow so be sure to check back. This is a kit you'll definitely want to get your hands on!!

messin' around with ol' blogeroo

I'm playing around with it...again! With all of the fall projects I've been working on I felt like changing the blog to reflect that, too. So don't be surprised if it changes around a bit for the next couple days! With 2 kids and a busy house I don't have time to sit down for hours on end and get it right the first time!

Also, I figured I'd leave the giveaway open through the weekend so you can click here if you haven't left a comment yet!

a couple Sept sneaks

I started playing with the Sept Kraft Girls Kit and I gotta say that I looooove this kit!! Everything in the kit is right up my alley. Don't you love that?!! The colors are great and the papers & embellishments go so well together.

I got a couple layouts done when Carol came over to scrap with me yesterday.

So here's a few sneaks...

I'll have more sneaks to share very soon. And there's still some Aug kits for sale that you can check out here. And, of course, the flickr gallery with all of the awesome projects & layouts!

Don't forget about the giveaway in my last post!

gearing up for fall & a giveaway!

The kids are back in school. The stores are filled with fall (and Christmas ~ eek!!) decorations. Of course, it's still in the 90's here and definitely not fall weather yet. But nonetheless I've been in the mood to create some fall goodies.

Check out some of my creations....

If you have the most recent Stampin' Up! catalog, then these jars might look a little familiar. I did my own take of the ones shown on p.20. I bought the jars at Hobby Lobby on sale, paid less than $10 total for both. Click on the image to see the larger jar...some of the rub-ons are hard to see with the black licorice!

I used the rub-ons on multiple colors of cardstock, then cut and layered with SU dimensionals for a neat effect. You could achieve the same effect with stamping if you wanted. One other thing...I use glue dots when decorating these jars. That way, when the season is over you can remove your decorations and change it for the next holiday!

More rub-ons...I found the green jar at Hobby Lobby on sale for around $3. Each pkg of rub-ons come with 1 sheet of black and 1 sheet of white. So I used the white ones on that cute little black bucket I found a while back at the Target dollar spot. Don't you love that Target has that?!

Again, I used the rub-ons twice. Used one directly on the bottle and did another one on white cardstock, cut out the skull (ewww, that sounds gross!) and attached with SU dimensionals.

The little "Oct 31" jar is one of those Making Memories embellishment jars (sorry, can't find a link of anyone who has some but they're the ones that are sold in a pkg of 6).

More altered goodies. The "halloween" tin is a band-aid tin that I decorated with the new Cast-a-Spell DS papers, white rub-ons and pumpkin pie striped grosgrain ribbon. Love ALL of the new striped grosgrain ribbon!

Pillow boxes...love the pillow boxes. And if you tie your ribbon sideways it holds it closed and you don't have to use adhesive on the ends!

I hope this inspired you to start crafting some ghoulish goodies!!

And here's the fun part ~ leave a comment and I'll pick one person to get a few Halloween goodies! US only, sorry! I'll keep it open til Friday at midnight :)

balloon glow

Every year for Labor Day weekend we head over to Callaway Gardens for their balloon festival. It's a weekend-long festival with big, bright hot air balloons, food, music and lots of fun. Now I will confess that we haven't actually done all of the weekend festivities yet. When we first moved to GA Ben was only 2 yrs old. And the thought of walking around in the hot sun amidst the crowds with 2 small children just didn't appeal to me. Cause in southern GA it's still pretty hot in Sept. But on Friday night they kick off the weekend with their balloon glow. Basically, they blow up the balloons and every time they fire them up the balloons glow. It's so pretty. So we'll sit on the beach, bring snacks, and the kids play in the sand til it gets dark and then we watch the balloons.

We've gone to it 3 times and I'm finally getting around to scrapping these pictures. One year down, 2 to go! (and in a few weeks I'll have a 4th set of photos!)

proof that I wasn't just talking

Anyone who's gone to a crop weekend with me knows I have a tendency to chat a lot. That's half the reason for even going, right?? The friendship, sharing of ideas, the oohing and ahhing over other people's cute pages... But I actually did get some pages done this weekend in between chatting and snacking ;) And here's some of the proof:

Supplies from Studio Calico Aug kit.
I added those cute new while thickers.

Supplies from Studio Calico July kit.
I added the green thickers.

papers from My Mind's Eye

papers from Making Memories
ribbon is Cosmo Cricket

I used the new My Mind's Eye Boo! to you! Halloween line. Such cute papers & embellishments!

I got some of the new thickers that you see in several of my layouts. I love the small font, very versatile! TGIF!!

back from the birthday bash

What a fun weekend we had at the birthday bash! I've recovered from the lack of sleep but Monday morning I came down with some kind of bug and have been feeling like crap. But I'm slowly crawling out of the sickie fog thank God. I'm on new meds for my uber-messed up digestive system so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.

Anyway.....

We did lots of chatting, scrapping, eating, chatting some more.....you know, the usual 2 day crop stuff!!

I got to see some of my Alabama scrappy friends :)
Virginia in her adorable prego-ness, Gretchen and that great album class (love it!!), Katie, Carol, Lisa & Nubia. So great to see you guys again :)

Check out the cute aprons that were waiting for us!

why do I look so weird in that pic?? anyway, we also had this cute little goody bag waiting for us at our tables

Have I ever mentioned how I loooove goody bags?? I have?

by the way, notice my hair color?? I was trying out something different. But I'm thinking this is just too dark for me...

We got to swing by the store on Saturday. Have I said how much I love that store?? I have?

And Kelly kept us cracking up all weekend long!

Birthday cake is better when it's smeared on your cheek!

It was a great weekend!!

(Kelly, I had to steal this one from your blogeroo!)

I'll leave you with this....

That's what happens when you leave a bag of gummy bears in your car in southern GA heat for an entire day!

Audrey Caroline

This video is just amazing. I sobbed through the entire thing. Who knew that this sweet little baby and the strength of her family could be such an inspiration to so many people. The Lord sure had a big job in store for her, didn't He??

If you're one of the 2 people that haven't yet found Angie Smith's blog, you can head over here. Click here to head over to the beginning of the story about Audrey Caroline.

cards from scraps

Hey everyone! I'm back from the birthday bash! We had so much fun :) I'll be sharing some pics of the crop and the things I made over the weekend. But first I wanted to share what I posted today over at the Kraft Girl Kits blog about using your leftover kit scraps for cards!

Here are the cards:

Be sure you head over there and check out the full post!

Edited to add: in the first card I stitched each strip of patterned paper directly onto the cardstock. You can do it that way or stitch the strips first and then adhere. I find it easier to just stitch right onto the card. I don't mind that you can see the stitching on the inside of the card and I just think it attaches better.
